Packaged Sub-Stations

Majas Switchgear design and manufacture package substations to incorporate the specific electrical and operational requirements of each project. Each package transformer substation is designed for reliable power distribution, ease of maintenance and efficient use of available space. Our designs are fully ASTA certified and type tested, with ratings up to 6300 Amperes and fault withstand capability up to 100kA for 1 second.

All our designs provide unrivalled quality and maintainability and include the following features

• Interchanging busbar systems provide solid connection of the transformer and LV switchgear
• Reduced footprint designs
• Winding temperature probes and relays
• Castell interlocking between the HV and LV supplies
• Door micro switches, which are connected to the HV and LV tripping system
• Top or bottom HV cable connections
• Incorporating cast resin transformers up to 4MVA
• Forced air cooled to increase output of the transformer
• Close coupled HV cable boxes, HV devices and ring main units

Bespoke Package Substation Design

The exact configuration of each package substation is developed for the installation rather than relying on a standard arrangement. Transformer capacity, HV and LV connections, protection, cooling and equipment layout can all be configured during the design process.

As a package substation manufacturer, we provide complete, factory-engineered solutions integrating the transformer and associated HV and LV equipment into a single coordinated unit. Our experience in designing and manufacturing HV and LV electrical equipment allows us to develop the complete package transformer substation as an integrated system, from the initial electrical specification through to manufacture and testing.
